I mean, they like it and all, but still…. it’s not the same as a steamy shower. I feel kind of bad for them. And for me, too, since they’re wandering off, looking for Dayner’s story and trying to figure out how they can get in that one instead of mine.

The discussion of how and where you leave your characters at the end of a writing session was good for me, and got me thinking. So I left Maude, who I invented today so she could go tap dancing at the county fair (she did, and enjoyed it greatly, thank you) at the end of tonight’s writing, whispering to Becca that she wants to tell her a secret.

I have NO IDEA what that secret will be. It could possibly be the traveling shovel of death, but that would involve a plot transposition I’m not sure I’m ready for yet. (Shaddy, pour me another glass of chardonnay, would you please? Thanks!)

So: if a sweet (maybe) kick-ass grandmother type who quotes Omar Khayyam to your cat asks if she can tell you a secret, what will that secret be??? I’m open to suggestions, and the winning one will — well, I’ll think of an appropriate prize later.

Uh, when I wrote ‘plot transposition’ above that may have misled you into thinking I actually HAD a plot. Not to worry. That’s a secret, too.
