Oh, DS, I think the rule you came up with for yourself fits SO WELL! And I like the one from Kennedy that you picked.

My problem (and I don’t really think ‘problem’ is the right word for either of our realities) is the reverse of yours — I just write without thinking and then wonder WTF? How did I get here? How will I get somewhere else?

Which is sort of the story of my life, come to think about it.

Some of the others are pretty interesting — especially where one writer swears by ‘X’ and the next swears by ‘anything except X.’
