From the front deck this morning:
My palm trees:
Yeah, it’s HUGE for us southerners, even us newbies…. Poor Polly didn’t know what to do, but she sure knew she didn’t want to set her girly parts down on that white stuff to pee…. I had to clear off some space under the waxmyrtles so she could go.

Speaking as a Washingtonian (and former Bostonian via Oswego,NY), it looks like kid’s stuff to me. Happy Valentines/President’s Day.

It IS kid’s stuff — or it WAS. If I can bring myself to go outdoors again, I’ll take some ‘after’ pics of the palm trees. Most of it’s melted by now…
Oh, my gosh! Snow on palm trees is unbelievable. Yikes to the strange weather going on all over the country.
Yikes indeed — you must have snow, but I doubt it’s covering your palm trees!
I hope your palm trees survive their coating of snow. This weather is wacky. We were at 54 degrees yesterday – in the middle of February, for goodness sake!
In Oregon!!
Sounds okay to me! Aren’t you getting rain though?
Holy cow! Do you have snow on the beach? I want to see a picture of that! I spent the day at the beach, it was lovely, I thought of you. I’ll try to post pictures so we can compare East Coast, West Coast. Bodega Bay and the Sonoma beaches were beautiful today, no wind 64 degrees–it was a great day.
Yesterday there was snow on the beach, but I forgot to take the camera. And there were people surfing! They had to carry their surfboards through the snow to get to the water. Were you anywhere near those big waves at Half Moon Bay?
We were further North but the waves were still huge. They had several Parks Department trucks on the beach to keep people from getting anywhere near the water.
Breathtakingly beautiful! All we had was a *** load of cold and wind. Now flurries or sleet this time, not as far south as I am anyway. I heard they had four inches in the panhandle. Amazing weather we are having. I love it’s unpredictability – such awesome power. My babies would probably require me to dig out a small patch of grass also.
Glad you didn’t get snow. The snow has fallen off the trees now and a lot of it has melted so that Polly can find her own spot to pee now, thank heaven.
That’s crazy! Now you know what it looks like outside my window every day!!
It IS crazy — and it’s also all melted now! Yeah, since I spent much of my life in upstate New York, New England and even Wisconsin, I already knew what snow was.
