Angela’s attention wandered as Reed became more animated. Who cared about red wolves, anyway? They might as well be red Cadillacs, for all it mattered to her. She was a numbers person, tracking how many wolves there were over time. If they died out, so what? There would always be something else to count.
Geez, if she did track cars instead, maybe she could get a discount on a new Escalade. She smiled at the prospect and then tried to focus on the meeting again.

Wow–what a B!
I’m not liking Angela. Which means you’re writing her well.
Oh, goodie! That’s what I was hoping for. I got worried last week that she was coming across as someone nice. She ain’t…
Very good! I can just see her staring, bored, out the window…
I’m glad. I was worried last week when you kinda liked her.
Now that’s not caring. Sounds like there is some history with her that I will need to find and read.
Welcome to my blog, Parrot! Angela showed up in my thoughts in December — to put up some roadblocks for Reed and Libby, who are turning out to be the main characters in the NaNoWriMo novel I began in November. If you click on Flash Fiction 55 in my Tags you can read some earlier short pieces that have Reed and Libby in them, as well as Angela as of last week. Also, I posted a longer EXCERPT from my NaNo novel on the blog, which you can reach from http://nancy.edcentric.org/blog/writing-excerpt-tap-dancing-at-the-county-fair/ OR by clicking on the EXCERPT link in the Menu at the top of the center column.
Yep, she’s a cold hearted…(Oh sorry, I lost my train of thought, Kathan and her dang donut!)
Like I was saying – I don’t like Angela much at all.
Oh and the writing was excellent too… That’s it I’m headed to Dunkin’ Donuts
Ah, y’all need some healthier yet still yummy treats! Let me see what I can do for you.
Check back in this space in a little while.
So much story in 55 words. Angela certainly has issues.
