Becca picked up the paperback book that Reba had been reading. “Is this good? You seemed to be really interested in it when I walked in the store.”
“Oh, yes! I love her books. This one, Dangerous Embrace, is one of her first ones and I liked it so much I’m reading it again. I love a good love story, you know? Especially when there’s a good satisfying ending and — ” She sighed. “I’ll tell you, I sure could use a good love story about now.”
They both looked up toward the door when they heard the squealing of brakes on the gravel outside.
“That’ll be Buddy. And let me tell you, this ain’t no good love story walking in the door.” Reba sighed again and patted her hair into shape as the door flew open.

I love this!!
Aaahhhhh–I’m going to cry! This is awesome! I might just have to post the ending now–jeeze I hope it’s satisfying enough. I think I like Reba more than Becca now.
Thank you!
Oh, goodie! I’m glad you like it. It just fit so well right there and I’m glad I could give your novel a plug here!
We’re so close in our word counts, we could hold hands. Not that we’d want to…I mean…we might look weird…but you know what I mean…we could…do that hand thing I mentioned…just to say we were…close enough to…oh….never mind…
…bye…
Ha! I think it’s kind of fun having writing buddies for this little journey. And it’s definitely good motivation for me to know y’all are around.
I have to admit that I shamelessly plugged my first book by writing it into my second. Just as I plugged a book I want to write into the first. I’m hopeless.
Not hopeless, DS, hopeful. And that you connected across books is awesome.
