Shooting Stars

I actually DID get up at 4 AM and headed outside with a comfy chair to watch the stars. It was clear and in the side yard, away from that pesky streetlight, pretty dark.

OMG, as they say. The stars were spectacularly brilliant, and as an added bonus, we’ve been having these extremely high seasonal tides so I could hear the waves crashing in the distance.

Yes, I saw meteors. But it was so lovely there in the clear darkness, in the presence of the universe, that a shooting star was almost superfluous in the overall stupendousness of this grand and glorious mystery.

Almost, but not quite.

Wish you were there!

  • I wish I was there too. I love the sound of waves crashing. Shooting stars and crashing waves…wow and all I did at 4am was sleep–how boring.

  • Isn’t it wonderful being outside under the stars? It is one of my favorite things to do. I can’t wait till the weather cools off and gets rid of those pesky mosquitos.

When winter rolls around I like to grab a book and sit out by the pond with a blanket and a small booklight.

I’m so glad you enjoyed the heavenly show!
